In most cases we will provide you with an instant quote online, in which case we will give you the details of the company that is stocking your Proton parts so you can contact them directly to make further enquires or to order yours parts.
Our ‘Instant Quotes’ are prices that we have had from previous customers looking for parts from the same make and model/year of car, which we keep up-to-date in live time, therefore, this is exclusive data from the trade and is available to our customers only. If you do receive an Instant Quote, please note that although suppliers have multiple stock of the same part, the parts are not reserved in anyway and are sold on a first come first served basis – so call then quickly to avoid disappointment.
'LIVE' Stock Check:
In addition to our online instant price, we also send out your Proton parts enquiry (your emails address and telephone number are kept confidential) to all the suppliers on our network to see if we can get specific quotes for your part(s). This 'LIVE' search ensures that we are double checking stock from across the country to get you the latest and most competitive quote – this check makes sure were searching newly arrived stock, seasonal discounts, special offers or sales offered by our companies on our network.
Once we have found your Proton parts we will send you the quote via Email OR send you a FREE Text to your mobile with the details of the company stocking your parts, in which case you can contact them directly to make further enquires OR to order yours parts. Our LIVE Stock Check is typically only available between the hours of 9am Til 6pm. These quotes can arrive as quick as 5 minutes but can take upto 1 hour, depending on how busy our suppliers are on the day.
Proton Genuine Parts – Which Quote to choose?
Right, so you have started your search for new & used OR Proton genuine parts, and have received either an Instant Quote or a LIVE Stock Check quote, or both. The next thing to do is choose the quote that best suits you. Below are some of the factors to consider when exploring which quote to choose when purchasing your car spares:
Choose by Price:
Arrange your quotes in the cheapest price order, as let's be honest the less you have to pay for
your Proton genuine parts the better. However, remember to check if the quoted price
includes Delivery & VAT in the price, as companies can vary in terms of whether they include
the Delivery and VAT in the price quoted to you.
Cheaper is not always better:
Quality Matters - Don’t always dismiss more expensive quotes straight away, as the higher price can at times reflect a better quality of part.
For example, You receive 2 quotes for a complete Proton engine:
Quote 1 = £200
Quote 2 = £300
However, although the part is the same, Quote 1 engine could have covered 100,000 miles on the clock, and Quote 2 could have 50,000 miles on the clock. Therefore, Quote 2 would be better quality due to the engine having covered less mileage, so is likely to have less internal wear and tear. The best way to judge the price is to contact both companies to get full details of the Proton parts before you order.
Colour Matters – A lot of our customers don’t think the colour is worth considering, however, the right colour could save you money on re-spraying costs.
For example, You receive 2 quotes for a Proton bumper and require a red colour:
Quote 1 = £25 - Blue
Quote 2 = £40 – Red
In this situation, although Quote 1 is actually cheaper and looks more attractive, Quote 2 is the better value. The reason why Quote 2 is better is that although you are paying more for the part, you will be making huge savings on re-spraying the bumper if you go with Quote 2 rather than Quote 1, as the colour already matches your car colour. So again its always worth ringing both companies who have provided a quote to get full details of the Proton part before you order.
Order your Proton Spare Parts:
Step 1 - Call:
To order your Proton parts we will provide you with the details of the company that has quoted on your parts. Please keep in mind that you will be dealing with the company stocking your parts directly, so you can get the best deal possible. Check out our 6 main buying tips, as this will help you to make sure you are ordering the right parts and are making payments securely.
Step 2 - Quote Your Reference Number:
When you get through to the company, please quote your What Part? reference number. This number always begins with WP followed by 6 or 7 digits. It is important that you quote this reference number to the parts supplier as the quote you would have received has been discounted compared to the price you would have received by going directly to the supplier. We are able to negotiate better discounts for our customers due the huge volume of customers we send to the companies on our network – so getting you the best possible pricesfor your Proton parts. Also, the reference number will be used by our supplier to retrieve you parts enquiry details, so saving you time when you call.
Step 3 - Confirm details:
Once your details have been retrieved by the stockists who has your Proton parts in stock, then its good practice to confirm these details so that you are satisfied that the part is correct before you go ahead to purchase.
Step 4 – Only use PayPal or Credit Card to make a payment:
We strongly encourage our customers to purchase the parts from the suppliers by using PayPal or your Credit Card. These options are recommended due to the better protection that you will receive from these payment providers when buying over the phone. All our suppliers have PayPal accounts, so payments can be made quickly, safely, and securely. Under no circumstances should you pay by Cash or Money Transfers as these payment methods do not protect you in any way.
Step 5 - Arrange Delivery:

Confirm the delivery address to the supplier, ask about estimated time of arrival of the part(s), confirm delivery tracking code so you can track the part, then sit back and relax.

This way you are free to call the supplier back at your own convenience.
Please note: We never send your contact details to any company on our network. They will only be presented with the car and part details that will help them to be able to quote accurately. Also, rest assured that your details will never be passed on or sold to third parties either.

The LIVE stock service typically operates between the hours of 8:30am – 6:00pm, and can be as quick as 5 minutes.
Note: At busy periods such as Monday morning, it may take a bit longer to receive quotes due to the suppliers still maybe catching up with their enquires from the weekend, however, you should still expect a quote response within 30 minutes.
No Response After 30 Minutes – We know this can be frustrating, however, rest assured that we will continue to search for your Proton parts for up to 48hours of you sending off your enquiry. There is a good chance that the companies are either still checking stock or may not have the part ready for dispatching just yet. The stock from our suppliers is changing daily, so we will always go the extra mile to make sure that even the hardest to find part can be found on our service.
Am I obliged to purchase a part(s) if I make a parts enquiry?
Not what so ever, the quote you receive are totally 100% No Obligation and you are not required to go ahead and purchase unless you are totally satisfied after calling the supplier.
In fact, we pride ourselves on giving you lots of prices for your parts so you can choose and save money on your Proton parts every time you use our service. The best thing to do is to look over all the quotes, choose the ones that suit you the best, then give the supplier in question a call for further details.
Even if you call the supplier to make enquires after receiving a quote, and for whatever reason don’t feel that the deal is the right one for you, you are still under no obligation to purchase. Our suppliers welcome your business and will be happy to assist or help you in your purchase.
How useful is the Part Number off my old part?
I HAVE the part number off my old part – then adding this in the parts enquires form before sending it off will be extremely useful for our suppliers in making sure they quote accurately for your parts as they will check the part number supplied by you with the part they have in stock before quoting.
I DON’T have the part number off my old part – Don’t worry, as our suppliers will have enough information from the form you have completed above to be able quote accurately. If you have any questions and are not completely sure that the part is the correct one after receiving your quote, you can always call the supplier to double check before purchasing.
Are SMS quotes FREE to receive?
YES – 100% Free – No matter how many quotes you receive.
We never ever charge you for receiving quotes from suppliers on our network, as we believe that getting charged just to receive a quote is totally unfair and unethical.
BE WARNED: There are a host of newbie-cowboy companies on the internet trying to provide services similar to ours, but watch out for the hidden costs they will charge you just to receive a quote. They can charge you £1.50 by SMS for each quote received, and can send you up to 6 phantom quotes – total cost to you = £9.00.
How shall I follow up my quote?
The best way to follow up your quotes is to follow the guideline below:
1) Make a list of all the quotes you receive.
2) Choose the quotes that you like.
3) Call the companies stocking your Proton parts straight away to make further enquires.
4) Ask the companies the following questions:
- Quote your What Part? - Reference Number.
- Ask questions about the part to ensure it’s the right one.
- Request a Picture of the part from the suppliers to be sent to your mobile or email, so you can check the condition and quality of the part.
- Confirm part number matches the part number of your old part (if applicable).
- Ask about Delivery and also who is responsible for the postage return costs if the part has to be returned for whatever reason.
- Ask for the Parcel Tracking Number – so you can track the whereabouts of your part.
- Once totally satisfied, proceed with the purchase using PayPal or Credit Card only.
Can What Part? reserve or hold onto parts?
No, we are unable to hold or reserve parts. All quotes that we provide are in real time, so once they are gone they are gone. To avoid disappointment, it is always recommended to call the supplier straight away.
Also, keep in mind that the supplier on our network do supply our customers with quotes, however, they have their own customers too and also advertise the parts elsewhere. So when you get a quote, call ASAP.
Can I request a picture of the part before I make the purchase?
Yes, we recommend that before purchasing the part to ask the seller to send you a picture to your mobile or email. This is not so important for new parts but for used Proton parts this will help you to be able to check the condition and quality of the part, before making a purchase.
Our suppliers are extremely helpful and will do all they can to make sure you're completely satisfied before sending out the part to you.
I have received multiple quotes, which one shall I call?
This can be a quite confusing, as if you're in a rush then probably the best supplier to call is the cheapest one, but only if the price is the main factor when you're looking to buy the part. However, to get the best possible deal we always recommend that you call the top 3 cheapest quotes, as the cheapest price is not always the best deal.
For example the following factors are worth considering before making a purchase:
- Condition of the Part.
- Colour of the Part – as you could save on re-spraying costs.
- Length of the Guarantee.
- Delivery Cost.
- Mileage of the car the part has been taken from – as the lesser mileage the lesser the wear and tear.
- More expensive part could include more extra accessories.
Is there a charge for calling the parts supplier?
Searching for Proton parts using our service is free of charge, receiving quotes via SMS and Email is also free of charge. Therefore, in order to provide the service we do, we do charge a small fee for calling the supplier who has your parts, which is typically charged at £0.50p per minute.
We will always try our hardest to keep the price of the call as low as possible without compromising the quality and speed of the service. To be honest, previous customers don’t mind paying this small charge, due to the considerable saving they are likely to be making when buying the Proton parts using our service.
Who covers the cost of Delivery?
Generally speaking the quoting company will cover the cost of postage when they provide a quote, however, this is not always the case as delivery prices can vary depending on where the part is being delivered too. Therefore, it's always a good idea to check the delivery cost when calling the company when making further enquires for your Proton parts, as this can vary from supplier to supplier.
Also, always enquire about the suppliers return postage cost, as some suppliers on our network are happy to include delivery cost in the quote, however, if you have to return the Proton parts for whatever reason, then you could be liable for the postage return cost. Please always double check with the supplier before purchasing the part to avoid any additional costs.
Should I sign for the part on delivery?
This is a tricky one, as the generally when the courier is delivering the part, the first thing they normally ask you to do is sign for the delivery to confirm it has been delivered. Although this seems to be the normal thing to do and not wanting to waste the delivery driver’s time, we all sign without sometimes thinking about it.
However, be aware, that signing for the delivery and item can be seen as you accepting liability that the part has been deliver without occurring any damage whilst in transition. Therefore, it might take a few minutes more, but always open the box and make sure the part has not been damaged in transition and that you are satisfied with the condition of it. If you are not happy with the condition, please do not sign and the Proton parts will be returned to the supplier, without you having to pay any postage return costs.
What if the part is faulty?
The suppliers on our network always try to ensure that they test all parts before dispatching them. In the unlikely event that you discover that the part you have received is faulty, then please contact the supplier you have brought the Proton part from as the Sale Agreement is between yourself and the seller (the company you brought the part from). Our suppliers are helpful and appreciate that from time to time on rare occasions that used Proton parts can be faulty, so arrange the part to be returned as well as your refund.
What if a supplier refuses to offer a refund?
If you are having issues with receiving a refund, please keep us informed. If we believe that a company has unduly not provided a refund or is at fault then we could on a one-of-basis intervene and provide support. However, due to the Sales Agreement being between yourself and the supplier, we can only try and help resolve issues occurring in relation to your purchase or refund. Even so, if we feel that that one of our suppliers is at fault, or receive numerous complaints about the same supplier, then we will immediately remove the company from our network and future business with them will be terminated. These cases are rare and as we do strictly enforce our code of conduct when companies join our network.
What about my refund though? - In terms of your refund, if you have paid for your Proton parts using PayPal or Credit Card then these payment providers will cover your purchase under the Consumer Credit Act (1974). Therefore, we would advise you to contact your payment partner and inform them of the issue, from which they will be able to authorize a refund of the outstanding monies you may be entitled too. What Part? are happy to provide any evidence we can to support you if required.
